life and career

Corey Reynolds, who was born in the city of Richmond, Virginia, in the summer of 1974, gained his first acting experience during his school days, but never took singing or acting lessons until his twenties. At his high school at the time, Manchester High School in Midlothian , which was attended by other well-known personalities such as D'Angelo , Denny Hamlin and Sean Marshall , he was also trained as an actor. Around the mid-1990s, after being on his own from the age of 16, he finally moved to California , where he initially tried to make a breakthrough. After engagements in revues like Smokey Joe's Cafe or other productions like the musical Saturday Night Fever , with which he also went on tour, he came to New York City over time , where he was supposed to celebrate his real breakthrough. After auditioning for various shows, he appeared in the premiere of the Broadway musical Hairspray in 2002 as Seaweed J. Stubbs and finally held that role for a year until the summer of 2003. He came into the cast of the musical only after he was offered the supporting role of Seaweed J. Stubbs after three different auditions or lectures . For his role he was nominated in 2003 for a Tony Award in the category “ Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical ” and in the same year received another nomination for a Drama Desk Award in the category “Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical ” Musical". After his time on Broadway, his film and television career was not long in coming. In the same year he was seen in an episode of Eve and even got a recurring role in the television series The Guardian - Savior with a Heart , where he slipped into the role of Robert Bridge in two different episodes . In 2004 he made his first notable film appearance in the box office hit Terminal , where he was hired for one of the supporting roles and could be seen as Waylin . He also took on another supporting role in the film Partner (s) , released in 2005 , before he got his most important role to date in the same year.

He was brought into the cast of the television series The Closer as Sergeant David Gabriel , one of the main characters, and has since appeared in every single one of the 88 episodes broadcast to date (end of May 2011). There was also guest appearances in one episode of Without a Trace (2005), CSI: Miami (2007), and Private Practice and Navy CIS (both 2009). He also had a "singing cameo" in the 2007 film Hairspray , where a Reynolds song recorded in previous years was recorded over the course of the film. In addition to another film role in The Wereth Eleven in 2011, when he took over the position of narrator , he made another appearance in a film production in 2011. The film with the early title Human Factor , which is being shot by Chaz Fatur and has partly already been made, is currently still in pre-production , but should be released in 2011. The comic fan and fan of the recurring title character of the Green Lantern comics John Stewart made comments in 2006 that he wanted to work on a production of a film adaptation of the comics. So he suggested, among other things, Warner Bros. the production of a trilogy for the comic film adaptation, where he wanted to slip into the role of John Stewart and immediately began work on the script. He also intended to bring in the actual title character of the comics, Hal Jordan , as well as the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League in subsequent sequels . In June 2007, he finished working on the script, which he named Green Lantern: Birth of a Hero , and received positive feedback from the film production giant. He was also awarded a possible release of the film by 2010. A little later, those responsible left Reynolds' concept behind and hired Greg Berlanti as director and co-screenwriter of the film. At that time it was decided to choose the actual title character Hal Jordan as the protagonist of the film, instead of John Stewart . In addition to Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim were also appointed as co-scriptwriters. In the course of time, Berlanti had to make way for Martin Campbell , who was also very experienced, in the office of director . A publication, let alone any other use of Reynolds' script has not yet come about. The film, which has its namesake Ryan Reynolds in one of the leading roles, will be released in the United States in June 2011.
