Marc Guggenheim (born September 24, 1970 in Long Island , New York ) is an American screenwriter , television producer and comic book writer . He is currently co- showrunner on the television series Arrow .

Life

Marc Guggenheim was born in Long Island , New York State , and grew up there. There he worked for more than five years as a lawyer , which in 2001 gave him his first job as a screenwriter for the television series Practice - The Lawyers . He then wrote three seasons in the Law & Order writer's room . This was followed by scripts for Jack & Bobby and CSI: Miami . Together with Greg Berlanti , whom Guggenheim met while working on Jack & Bobby , he developed the Eli Stone series of lawyers , which was nominated for a Writers Guild Award . In 2011 he wrote the comic adaptation Green Lantern , again with Berlanti. Guggenheim and Berlanti have been showrunners on the CW television series Arrow since 2012 . In 2013 he was involved in the literary adaptation of Percy Jackson - Under the Bann of the Cyclops as a screenwriter.

After Guggenheim completed an internship at Marvel in 1990 and colored some comic pages during this time, Guggenheim started writing comics professionally for DC from 2005 with two issues of Aquaman . Since then he has written for Marvels Wolverine , Punisher and Blade, among others . In 2006, Guggenheim took over the comic series The Flash . In 2007, Guggenheim became one of the comic book authors of Spider-Man . With Resurrection , Guggenheim published his first comic series on Oni Press in 2010.

Guggenheim wrote the plot of several computer games. Among others, 2005 for Perfect Dark Zero , 2006 Call of Duty 3 , 2009 for the game for the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine and 2010 for Singularity . His work on X-Men Origins: Wolverine was nominated for a 2010 Writers Guild Award.

Marc Guggenheim has been married to screenwriter and producer Tara Butters , whom he met while working on the television series Law & Order , for more than ten years . The two live in Los Angeles with two daughters. His brother is the screenwriter Eric Guggenheim .
