Desmond Harrington (born October 19, 1976 in Savannah , Georgia ) is an American actor , known for films such as The Hole (2001) or Ghost Ship (2002) and the series Taken (2002) and Dexter (2008-2013) has been.

Life and works

As Harrington was three years old, his family moved from Savannah back to the Bronx of New York City . He attended St. Margarets of Cotorna Catholic Primary School and Fordham Prep High School, also Catholic , for 12 years . As a hyperactive kid, Desmond was constantly in trouble in and out of school. After high school, Harrington attended Manhattan College but was kicked out after just six weeks. With no prospects whatsoever, Harrington initially took a few smaller jobs in town until an employee persuaded him to go to drama school. Harrington found a suitable environment for his hyperactive behavior.

He got his first role in Luc Besson's film Johanna von Orleans in 1999 , in which he played the character of Aulon. This film meant his breakthrough in Hollywood . In the period from 2000 to 2004 he received other roles in films such as We were Heroes , The Hole , Unterwegs mit Jungs , Wrong Turn and Ghost Ship . His further success is u. a. thanks to participation in series such as Dexter , Taken , Los Angeles Police Report ( LA Dragnet ) and Rescue Me .

In 2006 the film Bottoms Up with Jason Mewes and the series Sons & Daughters followed . In 2008 he starred alongside Fred Ward in the action film Exit Speed . From 2008 to 2013 he played the role of Joey Quinn in the television series Dexter .
