Sneaky Pete is an American crime series that was published on Amazon Video from 2015 to 2019 . Giovanni Ribisi can be seen in the main role .
action
The con artist Marius Josipović is released from prison after several years in prison. As soon as he is free again, he dedicates himself to his former profession. He impersonates an old cellmate named Pete Murphy, making it easy for him to sneak into his grandparents' bond business . However, he quickly realizes how difficult it is to live two lives at the same time without them mixing in any way.
season 1
Shortly before his release, Marius learns that the aftermath of the crime that first brought him to prison is catching up with him and his brother is being held hostage by his main adversary, so he takes on the identity of his cellmate and goes into hiding. With a group of allies, he plans a major coup to bring the then-failed robbery to an end and to take revenge. Meanwhile, Pete's family also gets into criminal machinations from which Marius hopes to be able to make a profit.
season 2
After Marius wanted to disappear from the life of his fraudulent family after the events of the first season, he learns that the crime that brought Pete Murphy to prison was a diversion from another, far more lucrative and successful coup. Since he cannot prove that he is not Pete, he is blackmailed into raising the millions he has looted, and at the same time he is also interested in the profit. Key figures are Pete's sly mother, who was thought to be missing, and Pete himself. When he is successfully freed from prison, Marius' cover threatens to crumble.
season 3
Pete's cousin, with whom Marius had developed a good relationship over the weeks, found out about Marius' identity at the end of the second season, but still needs his help as she is in trouble. She blackmailed him to help her, and both plan a coup, while suddenly signs of life from other family members who were believed to be dead appear.

Production and publication
The pilot of the series was originally shot in March 2015 for the broadcaster CBS . But after he decided against ordering an entire season after the pilot episode, Amazon.com instead acquired the rights to the series. The pilot episode, which had already been produced, was then published on August 6, 2015 on Amazon Video . In a survey, Amazon gave its customers the choice of which series they would like to see. After Sneaky Pete won this survey, Amazon commissioned a complete first season in September 2015. This was finally made available online on January 12, 2017 (USA) and February 17, 2017 ( D / A / CH ).
In January 2017, the series was extended for a second season. In July 2018, it was extended for a third season. This was published on May 10, 2019 on Prime Video. In June 2019, Amazon announced that the third season would be the last.
