Adam Arkin
Adam Arkin (born August 19, 1956 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor and director .
Career
Even as a child, Arkin had a desire to become an actor. At the age of ten he took acting lessons at the Herbert Berghof Studio. His first role was in Made For Each Other when he was 14 . During the 1970s and 80s he worked in numerous films such as Baby Blue Marine (1978), Under the Rainbow (1981) and Personal Foul (1987).
For his role in the play I Hate Hamlet , he was nominated for a Tony in 1991. He became popular in the 1990s through his television roles as Adam in All Alaska (Northern Exposure) and as Dr. Aaron Shutt in the Chicago Hope Hospital series . He received Emmy nominations for both roles . He was also nominated for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for his role as Will Brennan in the horror film Halloween H20 . He could later be seen as Walter Spencer in the series Baby Bob (2002) and alongside Will Smith as Max in the movie Hitch .
In 1993, Arkin first appeared as a director and directed an episode of Alaska, of all things . Since then he has worked as a director for more than 40 other productions, primarily for television series. Occasionally he also works as a producer.
Personal
The son of actor Alan Arkin and Jeremy Yaffe has three brothers: Matthew Arkin and Anthony Arkin are actors, Jake Wakefield is a lawyer.
Adam Arkin was married to Phyllis Lyons on August 21, 1999, and has a daughter, Molly (* 1987) , with his first wife, Linda Arkin (actress and yoga teacher). He has been married for the third time since 2017.
