Bryan Cranston
Bryan Lee Cranston (born March 7, 1956 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor , film director , voice actor and screenwriter . He became an internationally known character actor through his roles as Hal in Malcolm in the Middle (2000-2006) and as Walter White in Breaking Bad (2008-2013). He is a multiple Emmy and Golden Globe award winner. He was also nominated for an Oscar for his title role in Trumbo .
Life
Cranston was married to writer Mickey Middleton from 1977 until their divorce in 1982. In 1989 he married the actress Robin Dearden, their daughter is the actress Taylor Dearden Cranston .
In 2000 he starred in the film The Broker and in 2006 in the award-winning tragic comedy Little Miss Sunshine . He also appeared in numerous guest roles on television series, including King of Queens , Babylon 5 , Sabrina - Totally Verhext! , The X-Files, The FBI's Creepy Cases , How I Met Your Mother , Seinfeld and Viper . His participation in the series Malcolm in the Middle , in which he was part of the main cast in 151 episodes between 2000 and 2006 , ultimately led to greater fame .
From 2008 to 2013, Cranston played the lead role in the award-winning Breaking Bad series . In this he portrays an inconspicuous chemistry teacher with terminal lung cancer who begins to manufacture and sell crystal meth in order to secure his family financially, and thus gets deeper and deeper into organized crime. For this role, Cranston won an Emmy in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2014, as well as a Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Actor in a Drama Series .
In 2008 he played the role of Lucifer in Fallen Angels 3 and in 2010 directed the film Larry Crowne with Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks . He starred alongside Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale in the Len Wiseman- directed remake of Total Recall in 2012 . That same year he starred in Ben Affleck's Oscar-winning thriller Argo . In 2014 he starred in the remake Godzilla .
As a stage actor, Cranston made his Broadway debut as a leading actor in Robert Schenkkan's political drama All the Way in February 2014 . There he embodies the US President Lyndon B. Johnson in his first eleven months of his presidency. For his acting performance he received the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play in June of the same year .
Together with David Shore he created the series Sneaky Pete , the first season of which was released on Amazon Video in early 2017 .
On July 30, 2020, he announced via Instagram that he had suffered a COVID-19 disease with a mild course some time before and that he is now donating plasma to UCLA for research .
German dubbing voice
Although Cranston was dubbed by Bodo Wolf in the middle of Malcolm , Joachim Tennstedt has often been used as the German voice since Breaking Bad .
