The 62nd Emmy -Verleihung in the category of prime time ( 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards ) took place on 29. August 2010 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles instead. The presenter and actor Jimmy Fallon moderated the event.

The nominations were announced on July 8, 2010 by Sofía Vergara and Joel McHale with John Shaffner at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theater. The drama series The Pacific (24) had received most of the nominations in advance , followed by Glee (19) and Mad Men (17).
