Steve Carell
Steven John "Steve" Carell (born August 16, 1962 in Concord , Massachusetts ) is an American actor and comedian .
Film and television career
Carell grew up as the youngest of four brothers in Acton in a Catholic family with Polish, German and Italian roots. His father was an electrician, his mother a nurse. He actively played ice hockey and lacrosse during his school years , then studied history at Denison University .
Carell began acting as a member of an academic improvisational theater . As a result, he had minor appearances at various theaters in Chicago while he tried to earn a living as a postman .
Carell became known to a wider audience as a correspondent for the satirical news program Daily Show on the US cable channel Comedy Central . He also appeared in the Even Stephven and Produce Pete segments for the newscast . After a long hiatus, Carell returned to the Daily Show on March 23, 2005 for a guest appearance on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Iraq War . On August 17, 2005, he announced his permanent resignation from the Daily Show's team , dispelling rumors of a possible return.
From 2005 to 2011 Carell played the lead role of Michael Scott in NBC - remake of the British comedy series The Office of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant . For this he received a Golden Globe in 2006 for best actor in a comedy or musical television series and was nominated for an Emmy six times in a row from 2006 to 2011 . In the hour-long series finale of The Office , which aired on May 16, 2013, he took over his role again as Michael Scott .
In 2005 the film Jungfrau (40), male, looking for ... was released , in which Carell was not only involved as an actor in the lead role, but also as a co-screenwriter and producer.
