Mark Alan Ruffalo (born November 22, 1967 in Kenosha , Wisconsin ) is an American actor .

life and career

Ruffalo spent his childhood in Wisconsin. In his teens, he moved to San Diego with his parents, a painter and hairdresser, and his three siblings . After attending high school, she studied at the Stella Adler Conservatory in Los Angeles .

Although he had already worked as a stage actor for nine years, he did not gain greater fame until 2000 for his role in the film You Can Count on Me , and other film productions followed. In 2002, Ruffalo was slated for the movie Signs when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Despite complications after the operation, he has now fully recovered. He has since starred in other successful movies such as Collateral and Forget Mine Not! With. He was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in the comedy The Kids Are All Right from 2010 . For other supporting roles in Bennett Miller's film drama Foxcatcher (2014) and the journalist drama Spotlight (2015), he was again honored with Oscar nominations.

He took on the role of the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Edward Norton . As this he has been in Marvel's The Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Thor: Decision Day (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame ( 2019) to see. His German dubbing comes almost exclusively from Norman Matt .

Since June 2000, Mark Ruffalo has been married to the French- American actress Christina Sunrise Coigney , who is five years his junior . The two are parents of a son (* 2001) and two daughters (* 2005 and 2007).

Ruffalo's two year younger brother Scott was shot in the head in early December 2008 and died a week after the incident.
