30 overnight (Original title: 13 Going on 30 ) is an American comedy film from 2004 directed by Gary Winick with Jennifer Garner in the lead role.

action

The action begins in 1987: Jenna Rink celebrates her thirteenth birthday. She is friends with Matt Flamhaff, who gives her a specially built model of a dream house and powder for her birthday. The popular girls group “Six Chicks” with their leader Lucy Wyman is also invited to the party. Jenna would like to belong to the group, but is not accepted by them. Jenna hides Matt's presents in a closet before the other girls arrive.

After the party turns out to be a failure, Jenna crying and wishing she was 30 years old unwittingly uses the dream powder. The next morning in 2004, she woke up to a physically 30-year-old woman with the spirit of a 13-year-old. She does a good job editing Poise magazine , lives in a comfortable apartment on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, and is friends with Lucy Wyman.

Matt Flamhaff is now engaged to another woman and is a professional photographer. Jenna gets him an order for a photo shoot at Poise . Matt tells Jenna in numerous conversations about the last 17 years of her life. He explains to her that they have practically gone their separate ways since their thirteenth birthday.

Jenna falls in love with Matt but cannot persuade him to cancel his wedding. Lucy steals Jenna her design idea for the relaunch of the magazine with which she is going to the competition. Jenna cries and wishes it was 1987 again. With a remnant of the dream powder on the model house that Matt kept all the time, this wish comes true: Jenna wakes up in the closet again at the age of 13, and can now shape her life differently. When Jenna really turned 30, she and Matt are a couple and they live in a dream house, which is similar to the model house built by Matt.
