Angie Tribeca was able to convince the vast majority of television critics. At Rotten Tomatoes , the series received a value of 94%. Bjarne Bock from Serienjunkies.de called it “a pointed-tongued parody of dull crimeprocedurals à la Miami Vice , Starsky and Hutch or CSI .” Tim Grierson from TheWrap.com wrote in his review of the pilot episode: “Since the happy days of The incredible journey in a crazy airplane and The Naked Cannon there was no longer any entertainment that is so gorgeous, deliberately insane. Carried by an ingenious, deadly serious performance by Rashida Jones . "
