Jack McBrayer (born May 27, 1973 in Macon , Georgia ) is an American actor and comedian . He was nominated for an Emmy in 2009 for his role in the comedy series 30 Rock and won the Screen Actors Guild Award for being part of an acting company in a comedy series .

Career

From 1995 to 2002 he was part of the improvisational theater groups The Second City and iO Chicago . There he met Tina Fey , who later cast him on her series 30 Rock , which brought his breakthrough. Before this success he played a hillbilly in 80 episodes of the show Late Night with Conan O'Brien , to which he returned several times after his engagement to perform with his 30 rock figure.

In the television series Arrested Development he got a small, recurring role as a waiter in a country club. After the series was discontinued, he was involved with 30 Rock , where he is one of the main characters after Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin .

In 2008 he starred alongside Mariah Carey in her music video for her song Touch My Body . In 2010 he played a role in the movie Cats & Dogs and a continuous role in the third season of Phineas and Ferb .
