Ricky Bobby - king of the racing driver is an American sports - comedy from the year of 2006.

Ricky Bobby is a celebrated racing driver in the American NASCAR - Nextel Cup . His attitude of wanting to win at all costs made him a national hero. Along with his partner and childhood friend Cal Naughton Jr. , he is known as the fearless duo "Knack and Back" . The specialty of this duo is to win many races together, with Ricky as the winner and Cal as the eternal runner-up. When the gay French ex-Formula 1 driver Jean Girard appears, Ricky has a serious opponent for the first time. In one of the following races, Ricky Bobby had a serious accident, which he survived almost unharmed physically, but threw him mentally completely off track. He loses all courage and will to win, his job and even his wife to his best friend Cal.

After moving back in with his mother, his father suddenly reappears and tries to make him a top driver again. Ricky slowly works his way up again, overcomes his fear and becomes a NASCAR driver again.

Before the all-important race on the Talladega Superspeedway , Jean Girard confesses to Ricky that he would like him to defeat him so that he can finally turn to the life he wants to lead. In the race, Ricky works his way from last place on the grid to the front of the field, with his remorseful friend Cal helping him. While Bobby and Girard fight for the lead, Cal is rammed by his team-mate "as a punishment", causing the entire field, except for the two leaders, to be involved in a mass accident and eliminated.

But the two also destroy their cars in the scramble on the last lap. They both run to the finish on foot, with Bobby being first by a hand.
