Jan Spitzer

Jan Spitzer (born May 16, 1947 in Sangerhausen ) is a German actor , voice actor and singer .

Life

He received his acting training between 1965 and 1968 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . Even as an acting student, he played the leading role in the 1967/68 film Abschied , a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Johannes R. Becher . Other film and television roles followed.

Spitzer is also active as a theater actor. He had engagements at theaters in Altenburg , Halle , Schwerin , at the Deutsches Theater Berlin as well as at the Volkstheater in Munich and the Berliner Ensemble . Since the 1990s he has mainly worked as a voice actor and lent his voice to James Remar , Chris Cooper , Jon Voight , Ted Levine , Danny Trejo , Joaquim de Almeida , Brad Garrett and Alan Arkin , from 1995 to 2001 to the cartoon character Brain .

In 1970 his single "Who are you?" Was released on the record label AMIGA. In 1974 he sang in a duet with Beate Barwandt the song “So hold me”, which was published on the sampler Du (love songs of our time) .

From 2009 to 2011 Spitzer was a speaker at the Störtebeker Festival on the island of Rügen.
