action
The four teenagers Ryan, his sister Sarah, Paul and David watch a huge spaceship in the shape of a pterosaur lands one night . The result is highly developed dinosaurs that call themselves Astro-Dinos and come from the planet Reptilion. The teenagers make friends with the astro dinosaurs and found the secret astro club. As a membership mark, each of the four friends wears a ring that gives them agility and strength at the push of a button and serves as a radio . The Astro-Dinos traveled to earth because their arch enemies, the Tyrannos , who also descended from Reptilion, want to conquer the earth. This results in exciting adventures .
Characters
The astro dinosaurs
The Astro-Dinos are evolved dinosaurs from the planet Reptilion and have traveled to earth because the tyrannos want to conquer the earth. They can transform themselves into their prehistoric ancestors by pressing a button behind their symbols on their uniform. They consist of eight members.
- Allo is an evolved Allosaurus . He is the leader of the astro dinosaurs. He is the nephew of the dinosaur wizard and the dinosaur wizard. On Reptilion he has a wife named Vera and a daughter named Alloette. For Allo, all that counts is cooperation and always uses violence as a last resort.
- Tricero is a developed Triceratops . He was a good cop on Retilion before joining the Astro-Dinos. He is always by Allo's side.
- Reparo (orig. Dimetro ) is a developed Dimetrodon . He is the technician of the Astro-Dinos and likes to repair the machines with Paul.
- BrontoDino (orig. BrontoThunder ) is a developed Brontosaurus . He is the strongest of the Astro-Dinos and relies on his muscles. He is always ready to help his comrades and friends. He gets particularly angry when Sarah is in great danger.
- Stego is an evolved stegosaurus . He tends to be a little scared, but despite everything, he helps his friends.
- Kephalo (orig. Bonehead ) is a developed Pachycephalosaurus . He is Allo's nephew and tends to be a little gullible and childish. But he does everything to prove himself.
- Amphibio (orig. Ichy ) is an evolved Ichthyosaurus . He has the ability to talk to marine life if he listens carefully. He is secretly in love with Archaeo.
- Archeo (orig. Teryx ) is a developed Archeopteryx . On Reptilion she was an actress until she became a scientist and technician for the astro dinosaurs. Archaeo confides in Sarah that she is in love with Amphibio. She would love to confess her love to Amphibio, but she believes a relationship would never work because she is an astro-dino of the air and Amphibio is an astro-dino of the water.
The secret astro scouts
The secret Astro-Scouts consist of four friends and are the allies of the Astro-Dinos.
- Ryan Spencer is the leader of the secret Astro Scouts. He is Sarah's older brother and spends time with his best friends Paul and David.
- Sarah Spencer is Ryan's younger sister. Her passion is gymnastics and likes to accompany her brother and friends on adventures.
- Paul is fascinated by technology and likes to repair the machines with Reparo.
- David is the most humorous of his friends and is very adventurous, which sometimes gets him into big trouble.
The tyrannos
The Tyrannos are also evolved dinosaurs and the archenemies of the Astro-Dinos. They are also from Reptilion and want to rule both their entire home planet and the earth. They consist of seven members.
- Ghengis Rex is an evolved Tyrannosaurus Rex . He is the leader of the tyrannos. He comes up with the most devious plans to defeat the Astro-Dinos and become ruler of the earth. For him, people are just "mammals". He has a lot of feelings for Archaeo.
- Ankylo is a developed ankylosaurus . He's the navigator of the Tyrannos, but he's a bit idiot and always offers Rex crazy ideas. As a sign of his submissiveness, he always calls Rex "great dinosaur chief", which Rex cannot stand at all.
- Brachio is an evolved brachiosaurus . He is very quick-tempered, relies entirely on his muscles and tends to act first and then think.
- Styraco is an evolved styracosaurus . On Reptilion he was a very bad dentist and is the technician of the Tyrannos.
- Plesio is an evolved Plesiosaurus . Like Amphibio, he has the ability to talk to marine animals.
- Quacko (orig. Quackpod ) is a developed Hadrosaurus . On Reptilion, he hosted a show called TV Platypus. He is the prankster of the tyrannos and likes to play pranks.
- Dactylo (orig. Terrible Dactyl ) is a developed pteranodon . He is the flying spy of Tyrannos.
Origin and publications
The television series created by DiC Entertainment in collaboration with Ellipse Programmé was shown on American television beginning in 1987–1988. It comprised 65 episodes that were written by very different authors. They included Diane Duane , Michael Uslan , SP Somtow and Bill Fawcett . However, the series was canceled prematurely and plans to supplement the series with a large-scale toy line disappeared in the drawer, although the first prototypes of the characters were presented shortly before.
The show and its characters were owned by Coca-Cola since the company owned Columbia Pictures at the time the series was created. The current rights are owned by Sony Pictures Television following the acquisition of Columbia .
In the United States, parts of the series appeared on four VHS cassettes that were released in 1994. Each of the cassettes contained two episodes of the series in out of chronological order. In the United Kingdom, two PAL- format tapes , each containing five episodes, were released that year. There has not yet been any publication on DVD and no new data carriers are offered.
