Michaela Suzanne Watkins (born December 14, 1971 in Syracuse , New York ) is an American actress and comedian .

Life

Michaela Watkins was born in Syracuse, New York in 1971. Her father is a professor at Syracuse University and her mother teaches Latin in Boston . She attended Wellesley High School in Wellesley , Massachusetts . She then attended Boston University , which she later left with a BFA . Watkins is of Jewish descent. Michaela Watkins has been married to Fred Kramer since July 2013.

Career

At the beginning of her career, Watkins played in the theater in Portland from 1996 to 2000 . After moving to Los Angeles , Watkins continued to work as a stage actress and also received roles in various television series such as Charmed - The Magic Witches , Without a Trace - Vanished without a trace , Strong Medicine: Two doctors like fire and ice , Medium - Nothing remains hidden , Grey's Anatomy and Malcolm in the thick of it . In addition to appearances in television series, she repeatedly works as an actress in short and television films . She became known to a larger audience through her engagement with Saturday Night Live , which was followed by other roles. During the same period, she was in front of the camera for seven episodes of the sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine . In addition to other guest appearances in series, she played the role of Mona in Plan B for Love (2010) alongside Jennifer Lopez and Alex O'Loughlin . In 2012 she got a role in the comedy Wanderlust - The Trip of a Lifetime from David Wain . She played the hated sister-in-law of Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston's characters. She then starred alongside Mark Ruffalo , Tim Robbins and Gwyneth Paltrow in the comedy Thanks for Sharing directed by Stuart Blumberg . In the film year 2013 she worked in the films In a World… by and with Lake Bell , iSteve with Justin Long as Steve Jobs , Enough said with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Afternoon Delight .
