David Benjamin Wain (born August 1, 1969 in Shaker Heights , Ohio ) is an American comedian , actor , screenwriter , director and film producer .

life and career

David Wain is one of four children born to Nina and Norman Wain. It was in 1969 Shaker Heights ( Ohio born) and grew up there. After high school attended Wain in New York City , the Tisch School of the Arts of NYU , where he founded with friends the comedy group The New Group in October 1988. The group played skits and entered into short films , where Wain took the chance in addition, the Writing the script and directing. Upon graduation, the group was renamed The State and they received a series on MTV . This group included a. Michael Ian Black , Michael Showalter , Robert Ben Garant , Thomas Lennon , Joe Lo Truglio , Ken Marino and Kerri Kenney . From 1993 to 1995 he wrote the screenplay for 27 episodes and was responsible as a director. After the sketch show moved to CBS , the group broke up in friendship. Since 1997, Wain, Showalter and Black have formed the sketch group Stella . Stars like Zach Galifianakis and Sam Rockwell appeared in front of the camera in the 1998-2002 comedy Stella Shorts . This resulted in the nightclub comedy show Stella in 2005 , which was discontinued after ten episodes.

In the comedy Faith is Everything! starring Edward Norton , Ben Stiller and Jenna Elfman , Wain played Steve Posner . He first stood behind the camera in 2001 as a director for a film. He worked for the film Wet Hot American Summer with former colleagues from The State and others such as Marguerite Moreau , Janeane Garofalo , Paul Rudd , Bradley Cooper and Elizabeth Banks . Who thereby received their first major film roles.

In 2004 he was a videographer in comedy ... and then Polly came across Ben Stiller and Debra Messing's roles at the wedding reception. In 2007 several actors from the group The State, founded in 1988, stood together in front of the camera. They played together in the films Das 10 Gebote Movie (Wain also director) and Reno 911 !: Miami . In 2009 he was role models as a producer and director for the film ?! responsible for playing the role of Chevron Baine . He was seen as a wedding photographer in John Hamburg's comedy, Groomsman wanted! . Wain has been speaking in the Superjail series since 2007 ! , which airs on Adult Swim , the voice of The Warden . His comedy film Wanderlust - The Trip of her Life, in which his friends Paul Rudd, Jennifer Aniston and his wife star, was released in 2012.

David Wain was married to actress Zandy Hartig and has two sons with her. He currently lives in Studio City ( Los Angeles County ).
