Studio City is a district of the California metropolis of Los Angeles and is located in the south of the San Fernando Valley .

Studio City is bordered by Beverly Crest , Hollywood Hills , Hollywood Hills West , North Hollywood , Sherman Oaks , Toluca Lake , Universal City, and Valley Village .

history

Studio City got its name in the 1920s when Mack Sennett moved his studios near Ventura Boulevard . Part of the population preferred the Laurelwood name , but the Chamber of Commerce decided against it.
