Ryan Thacher (born October 6, 1989 in Studio City , Los Angeles ) is a retired American tennis player .

Career

Thacher only played a few matches on the Junior Tour, on which he once took part in a Grand Slam tournament at the US Open in 2007 .

He studied history at Stanford University from 2008 to 2012 . During this time he also played college tennis .

The only time he regularly took part in professional tournaments was in 2012. Before his studies, he received a wildcard for the ATP World Tour tournament in Los Angeles in 2007 , where he and Zack Fleishman were eliminated in the first round. In addition to another assignment on the 2011 World Tour in San José , he played a few more matches at Challengers and in qualifying for ATP matches. In 2012 he won four futures doubles , tournaments of the lowest tournament category, which made him the best result in the world rankings with 528th place. After retiring from his career at the end of 2012, he was once in the top 1000 singles.
