The SAP Open 2011 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 7th to 13th, 2011 in San José . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2011 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week, the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament was played in Rotterdam and the Brasil Open in Costa do Sauípe . The latter, like the SAP Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category , while the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

In this year's final, Milos Raonic narrowly beat the top-ranked defending champion Fernando Verdasco . There was not a single break in the entire course of the match; both sets were decided in the tie-break. For Raonic, who was in an ATP final for the first time, it was the first ATP title. In doubles, Mardy Fish and Sam Querrey were the defending champions, but they did not compete together that year. It won Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram by a three-set victory over Alejandro Falla and Xavier Malisse . This was their second joint ATP title and the first this year after they had just lost a week earlier in the Johannesburg final .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 531,000 and the total financial debt was $ 600,000.
