Defending champion in the singles was Albert Montañés , who played this year in the parallel tournament in Belgrade. In the final, the Argentine Juan Martín del Potro met the Spaniard Fernando Verdasco and was able to prevail 6: 2, 6: 2. The defending champions in doubles were the Spaniards Marc López and David Marrero . They also made it to the final in 2011, but lost to Eric Butorac and Jean-Julien Rojer in two sets.
