Leonardo Tavares (born February 20, 1984 in Espinho ) is a former Portuguese tennis player .

Career

Tavares has participated in professional tennis since 2001. He mostly competed in future and challenger tournaments. In August 2009 he reached the finals of a Challenger tournament for the first time in Manerbio, Italy . In doubles he was able to win five titles with changing partners. He achieved his highest world rankings in singles in August 2010 with rank 186, in doubles in September 2010 with rank 95.

From 2002 to 2011 he played 31 games for the Portuguese Davis Cup team and has a record of 15:16.

In 2016 he played his last professional tournament.
