Simone Vagnozzi (born May 30, 1983 in Ascoli Piceno ) is a former Italian tennis player .
Career
Vagnozzi turned professional in 1999, but only played tournaments in the Future category until 2000. Vagnozzi made his first appearance in a challenger tournament in doubles in August 2000 and singles in July 2003. A week later, Vagnozzi and his training partner Andreas Seppi celebrated his first victory in a challenger tournament. The first individual victory followed in August of the same year. In San Benedetto del Tronto in 2003 Vagnozzi and Daniele Giorgini reached a final in a challenger tournament for the first time. In 2004, Vagnozzi reached the semi-finals of a challenger tournament for the first time in a singles in Olbia . In August 2006, Vagnozzi reached the semi-finals of a challenger tournament twice. In January 2007 Vagnozzi celebrated his first tournament victory in doubles with Marc López at the challenger tournament in La Serena ; In June 2007 Vagnozzi made his first individual final on the Challenger Tour. Vagnozzi made his first appearance in the main field of the main tour at the Croatia Open 2005 in doubles and 2010 in singles, Vagnozzi celebrated his first victory in the main field of the main tour in doubles in June 2007 at the Orange Prokom Open with Adrián García , in singles at the BCR Open Romania 2010 . With the points for this victory (and the points for the successful qualification) Vagnozzi was able to reach his previous best ranking of 163.
With Andreas Seppi, Vagnozzi reached the double finals of the SkiStar Swedish Open in 2010 .
In April 2011 Vagnozzi benefited in Barcelona after successfully qualifying from the abandonment of his opponent Fabio Fognini and was able to defeat No. 16 of the tournament, Juan Mónaco , in the second round .
