Juan Mónaco (born March 29, 1984 in Tandil ) is a retired Argentinian tennis player .
Career
Juan Mónaco started playing tennis at the age of six. On July 23, 2012, he achieved his highest ranking in the world with rank ten . In February 2010 he reached the final in Viña del Mar for the second time , but he also lost this final as in 2008. He was defeated by the Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci in three sets with 2: 6, 6: 0 and 4: 6. Mónaco has won nine singles titles in his career, most recently in Houston in 2016 , and three more doubles. He won all but three titles on his favorite surface, sand. In addition, he was in a further twelve individual and three double finals.
Mónaco played for the Argentine Davis Cup team from 2004 to 2016 , where he has a record of 11:13.
On May 16, 2017, Mónaco announced his resignation after having only entered three tournaments in the current season and failed in each of the opening hurdles.
