In the final, the Argentine Horacio Zeballos and Rafael Nadal from Spain met. Zeballos won the game 6: 7 (2: 7), 7: 6 (8: 6) and 6: 4, with which he celebrated his first individual title on the ATP World Tour. Defending champion Juan Mónaco did not get beyond his opening game this year. In the doubles competition, Rafael Nadal was also in the final, his partner was Juan Mónaco. The two were defeated by the Italians Paolo Lorenzi and Potito Starace with 2: 6, 4: 6. For Lorenzi it was the first victory on the ATP World Tour, for Starace it was the sixth title success.
The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs.
The qualification for the VTR Open 2013 took place from February 2nd to 4th, 2013. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
At the VTR Open 2013 the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round.
