Dušan Lajović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Душан Лајовић ; born June 30, 1990 in Belgrade , SR Serbia ) is a Serbian tennis player .

Career

In both singles and doubles, Lajović won several future tournaments at the beginning of his career , which gave him a few places in the rankings. On the Challenger Tour he won his first title at the Samarqand tournament in August 2012 , whereupon he was able to make up places in the world rankings and advanced to position 137. He has also achieved respectable success on the ATP World Tour . In 2011 he was able to qualify for the main fields in Zagreb , Moscow and Umag , in Belgrade he received a wild card . However, he was always eliminated in the first round. He also qualified in St. Petersburg , but this time survived the first round. After beating Jérémy Chardy in two sets , a hard-fought three-set win over Dudi Sela followed . In the quarterfinals he had no chance against Alex Bogomolov junior , he clearly lost in straight sets. In 2012 he took part in the qualification for a Grand Slam tournament at the Australian Open for the first time , but was eliminated in the first round. He had already led 5-0, 40-0 in the third set against Matteo Viola , but could not use a total of nine match points and lost the set and with it the match 6: 8 against the later qualifier.

In 2012 he was first nominated for the Serbian Davis Cup team . In the first round match against Sweden he made his debut in the last individual against Filip Prpic after Serbia was already unassailable . He won in two sets 6: 4, 6: 4.
