Filip Prpic (born May 26, 1982 in Helsingborg ) is a Swedish tennis player .

Career

Prpic achieved his best placement as a junior player in 2000 with 33rd place.

In 2001 he broke through the top 1000 of the world rankings for the first time and won his first future title in doubles . Until 2004 he continued to play mainly at this level - except for participation through wild cards at the ATP tournaments in Båstad and Stockholm . In 2003 he won one, and in 2004 two titles in singles, which made him one of the top 300 and was able to take part in tournaments on the ATP Challenger Tour as well as qualifying for a Grand Slam tournament for the first time at the US Open . After a total of four Challenger quarter-finals, he was in 221th place at the end of the year. In the following years until 2007, the Swede experienced his most successful period. In 2005 in Valladolid and in 2006 in Lanzarote , he won his two Challenger titles in singles. After the latter, he reached his career high of 194 in May 2006. In doubles he also came to two titles: 2006 in Nottingham and Istanbul . Also in 2006 it was listed the highest with rank 277.

In 2008, Prpic dropped out of the top 400 after only reaching one Challenger quarter-finals, and played more futures again. In 2009 an upward trend developed again when he reached the final of the Challenger in Khorat from qualification and lost there against Andreas Beck . As in 2010, he finished the year just outside the top 300 players. Only in 2010 in Johannesburg and 2007 in Stockholm he was able to win a match in 10 individual tournaments on the ATP Tour. He could not qualify for a Grand Slam tournament. In addition to the four challengers, he was able to triumph eleven times in futures, seven times in singles, where he won at least one title every year from 2003 to 2011.

After only two tournaments in 2011, Prpic was appointed to the Swedish Davis Cup team in 2012 for an encounter of the world group . He lost his only two matches there. These were his last professional games.
