Jamie Delgado (born March 21, 1977 in Birmingham ) is a former British tennis player and current tennis coach from England . He holds the record for most consecutive men's Wimbledon appearances. From 1991 to 2014 he took part in the tournament, only Virginia Wade had more participations in a row (26).

life and career

Delgado first tried to gain a foothold in his career in singles. He won three tournaments on the Challenger Tour , two of them in 1999 and another in 2001. His highest single placement was 121st place on August 20, 2001. Since 2002, however, he has been particularly active and successful in doubles: so far he has won 16 doubles titles . In Grand Slam tournaments he never got beyond the second round in singles, but in doubles he already reached the round of 16 at both Wimbledon and the US Open .

In 2014 he decided to end his career and concentrate more on his coaching activities. He helped Gilles Müller , with whom he also competed in doubles at the beginning, from a world rankings above the top 300 back to a place within the top 50. Delgado has also been part of Andy Murray's coaching team since 2016 .
