Lars Burgsmüller (born December 6, 1975 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a former German tennis player .

Career

He won the only ATP tournament in his career in 2002 in Copenhagen . Then he reached his highest position in the world rankings with position 65 . In 2004 he came back to a final, but he lost the Shanghai final against Guillermo Cañas . In 2005 Burgsmüller won the tournament in Ho Chi Minh City together with Philipp Kohlschreiber in doubles . He was also a finalist in Casablanca (2000) and in 's-Hertogenbosch (2004). In 2003 Lars Burgsmüller played for Germany in the Davis Cup . He could win one of his three singles.

Burgsmüller is now working as a doctor at an Essen hospital.
