James Auckland (born April 1, 1980 in Norwich , England ) is a retired British tennis player .

Career

Auckland, who is right-handed, started his professional career in 1999. Before the Wimbledon Championships in 2002 , he received a wild card for the main draw of the men's individual tournament. However, he was forced to give up due to an injury.

Between 2003 and 2009 he took part in a total of 13 Grand Slam tournaments in doubles. During this period, he made seven appearances at the Wimbledon Championships and two appearances each at the Australian Open , the US Open and the French Open . His greatest success was reaching the third round at the Wimbledon Championships in 2006 . He received during his career prize money totaling 260,610 US dollars . His best placings in the ATP -run tennis world rankings were a 282. Place in the singles, which he reached on 6 February 2006, and a 57th position in the doubles, where he was set on 9 April, 2007.

Since April 2013 he has been working for Premier Tennis , a coaching and management company, as Director of Tennis .
