Jonathan Marray (born March 10, 1981 in Liverpool ) is a former British tennis player from England .
Career
Marray has won 18 doubles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour so far. However , he has not yet achieved any major successes at the ATP level , but he has made it to the quarter-finals with various partners several times. At Grand Slam tournaments he surprisingly won the tournament in doubles in 2012 at Wimbledon together with Frederik Nielsen . The team, which started with a wildcard, beat four seeded pairings in the course of the tournament, including in the semifinals the second seeded Bob and Mike Bryan . In the final, they defeated Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau in just five sets. Marray was the first Briton in 35 years to reach the semifinals of the tournament and the first since 1936 to win the doubles competition of the tournament. Due to the success, he moved up to position 21 in the world rankings. Marray also became the first Briton who could qualify for the doubles competition of the ATP World Tour Finals , where he reached the semi-finals with Frederik Nielsen.
