David Martin (born February 22, 1981 in Tulsa , Oklahoma ) is a retired American tennis player .
Career
Martin was mainly successful as a doubles player. He won 16 titles at Challenger tournaments and also won one title at ATP level . In 2008 he won alongside Scott Lipsky in the final of San José against the exceptional doubles Bob and Mike Bryan 7: 6 4 , 7: 5. He also reached five other ATP finals, three of which were in 2008, Martin's most successful season. His highest placement in the world rankings was position 38 in May 2008. In Grand Slam tournaments, he achieved his best result by reaching the round of 16 at Wimbledon 2007.
