The Indianapolis Tennis Championships 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place July 14-20, 2008 in Indianapolis . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week the Dutch Open Tennis was played in Amersfoort , the ATP Studena Croatia Open in Umag and the Austrian Open in Kitzbühel . The latter belonged to the International Series Gold category , while the tournaments in Indianapolis, Umag and Amersfoort belonged to the lower endowed category of the International Series .

Defending champion in the singles was Dmitri Tursunow , who lost 4-6, 4-6 to the tournament winner Gilles Simon in the final . With this, Simon won his fourth title in his individual career. In doubles, Juan Martín del Potro and Travis Parrott were the defending champions. Both did not run again that year. The title was won by Ashley Fisher and Tripp Phillips , who prevailed in the final against Scott Lipsky  and David Martin with 3: 6, 6: 3, [10: 5].

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was $ 500,000; total financial liabilities were $ 525,000.

The qualification took place from July 12th to 13th, 2008. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
