The ATP Studena Croatia Open 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place from July 14th to 20th, 2008 in Umag . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on sand. In the same week the Dutch Open Tennis was played in Amersfoort , the Indianapolis Tennis Championships in Indianapolis and the Austrian Open in Kitzbühel . The latter belonged to the International Series Gold category , while the tournaments in Indianapolis, Umag and Amersfoort belonged to the lower endowed category of the International Series .

Defending champion in singles was Carlos Moyá , who was eliminated in the quarter-finals this year. In the final, seeding list leader Fernando Verdasco prevailed 3: 6, 6: 4 and 7: 6 4 against Igor Andrejew and won his second individual title. The pairing of Lukáš Dlouhý and Michal Mertiňák won in doubles last year. Mertiňák played with Petr Pála this year and was able to defend his title. In the final they beat Carlos Berlocq  and Fabio Fognini with 2: 6, 6: 3, [10: 5].

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize money was 305,000 euros; the total financial liabilities were 326,000 euros.

The qualification took place from July 12th to 13th, 2008. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
