Last year's winner Gilles Simon was able to defend his title in the individual. In the final, the Frenchman, who was seeded two, was able to prevail against the Spaniard Carlos Moyá in two sets 6: 3, 6: 4 and thus call his third title in 2008 and fifth title of his career his own. In doubles, Oliver Marach and Michal Mertiňák were successful in the previous year, only Mertiňák took part again in the tournament, but was eliminated in the first round. In the final, Nicolas Devilder and Paul-Henri Mathieu prevailed against the Poles Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski with 7: 6 4 , 6: 7 9 , [22:20].
The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 349,000 euros; the total financial liabilities were 370,000 euros.
The qualification took place from September 6th to 8th, 2008. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
The following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who moved into the main draw via qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not cumulative (prize money for the double competition per team).
