The BRD Năstase Țiriac Trophy 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Bucharest from April 18 to 25, 2016 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played outdoors on a clay court. That same week the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell was played in Barcelona . However, in contrast to the BRD Năstase Țiriac Trophy, which only belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category, the latter belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Defending champion in singles was Guillermo García-López , in doubles Marius Copil and Adrian Ungur were last year's winners.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.

qualification

The qualification for the BRD Năstase Țiriac Trophy 2016 took place from April 16-17, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
