The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize money was 606,525 euros; the total financial liabilities were 675,645 euros.
The individual final was interrupted on Sunday, June 12th due to bad weather and played to the end on Monday, June 13th, 2016. In the final, the Austrian Dominic Thiem won against Philipp Kohlschreiber in three sets.
The qualification took place from June 4th to 5th, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
The following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The amounts for the double competition apply per player.
