The Ecuador Open Quito 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Quito from February 1st to 7th . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played outdoors on sand. In the same week the Open Sud de France was played in Montpellier and the Garanti Koza Sofia Open in Sofia . Like the Ecuador Open Quito, both were part of the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Víctor Estrella was the defending champion in the singles, who in the final against Thomaz Bellucci in three sets with 4: 6, 7: 6 5 and 6: 2 kept the upper hand and defended his title. This means that his ATP tournament victories in Quito are the only ones in his career. Gero Kretschmer and Alexander Satschko won in doubles last year. This year they were defeated by the later finalists Bellucci and Marcelo Demoliner in the quarterfinals . In the final, Guillermo Durán and Pablo Carreño Busta prevailed 7: 5, 6: 4. They won their first double title on the ATP Tour.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 463,520; total financial liabilities are $ 520,070.
