The Open Sud de France 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 1st to 7th, 2016 in Pérols near Montpellier . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played indoors on a hard court. The same week the Ecuador Open Quito took place in Quito and the Garanti Koza Sofia Open in Sofia , which, like the Open Sud de France, belonged to the category of the ATP World Tour 250 .

Richard Gasquet was the defending champion in the singles and was seeded at one in 2016. He won the tournament again for the fourth time and is a record winner, overall it was his 13th title. In the final he prevailed against Paul-Henri Mathieu 7: 6, 6: 4. In doubles, Marcus Daniell and Artem Sitak were successful in the previous year, this year they were eliminated in the first round. The final decision Michael Venus and Mate Pavić against the German brothers Alexander and Mischa Zverev with 7: 5, 7: 6 4 itself.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was EUR 463,520 and the total financial liabilities are EUR 520,070.

The qualification for the Open Sud de France 2016 took place from January 31 to February 1, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
