The If Stockholm Open 2016 was a tennis tournament , which from 17 to 23 October 2016 in Stockholm took place. It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week the Kremlin Cup was played in Moscow and the European Open in Antwerp . The If Stockholm Open belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .
The defending champions were Tomáš Berdych in singles and the pairing Nicholas Monroe and Jack Sock in doubles.
The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.
qualification
The qualification took place from October 15th to 16th, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
