The Kremlin Cup 2016 (officially: VTB Kremlin Cup ) was a tennis tournament that took place from October 17 to 23, 2016 at the Olimpijski in Moscow . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week were in Stockholm the If Stockholm Open and in Antwerp the European Open played. The Kremlin Cup was part of the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in singles was Marin Čilić , in doubles the pairing Dmitri Tursunow and Andrei Rublev .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.

The qualification took place from October 15th to 16th, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
