The Geneva Open 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Geneva from May 15-21, 2016 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played outdoors on a clay court. In the same week, the Open de Nice Côte d'Azur was played in Nice , which, like the Geneva Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champions were Thomaz Bellucci in singles and Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah in doubles .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize money was 499,645 euros; the financial obligations amounted to 556,195 euros.

The qualification took place on May 14th and 15th, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
