The Geneva ATP tournament (officially Banque Eric Sturdza Geneva Open , previously Geneva Open ) is a men's tennis tournament that was initially held from 1980 to 1991 in Geneva , Switzerland . The game was played outdoors on clay courts. The tournament was part of the ATP World Series , the predecessor of the ATP World Tour 250 . In the 1992 season, the Geneva Open was replaced by the tournament in Cologne .
In 2015 , it returned to the tournament schedule of the ATP World Tour as the successor to the Düsseldorf tournament .
In the singles only Mats Wilander and Stan Wawrinka could win the tournament more than once, they are record winners with two titles each; in doubles, Tomáš Šmíd and Balázs Taróczy are record title holders, both also won the competition twice, with different partners.
