Sergi Bruguera Torner (born January 16, 1971 in Barcelona ) is a former Spanish tennis player .

Career

In his tennis career (professional from 1988) he won 14 singles titles and three doubles titles. The clay court specialist achieved his greatest successes by winning the French Open in 1993 (victory in the final against Jim Courier ) and 1994 (victory in the final against his compatriot Alberto Berasategui ) as well as the silver medal at the 1996 Olympic Games .

He achieved his best placement in the ATP world rankings with 3rd place in August 1994.
