Cédric Pioline (born June 15, 1969 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a former French tennis player .

Career

Pioline, who became a professional tennis player in 1989, was twice in the final of a Grand Slam tournament , in 1993 at the US Open and in 1997 at Wimbledon . He had to admit defeat to Pete Sampras each time .

He won a total of five singles and one double title, including a victory in a Masters tournament ( Monte Carlo Masters 2000). He reached his highest position in the ATP world rankings in 2000 with 5th place.

From 1994 he played a total of 36 games for the French Fed Cup team , in which he was able to achieve 22 wins (his individual balance: 18:11). In 2002 Cédric Pioline ended his professional career.

In 2011 he took part in the second season of the dance show Danse avec les stars .
