From 1994 to 2001 there was an ATP tournament in Bogotá at the same place, it was part of the ATP World Series and the ATP International Series - both predecessors of the ATP World Tour 250 - and was played outdoors on clay court. Between 2004 and 2010 it had the status of a Challenger tournament and was most recently known as the Bancolombia Open .
