The ATP tournament of Budapest (officially Hungarian Open ) is a tennis tournament of the ATP World Tour in the Hungarian capital. It was held for the first time in 2017, aimed at sand in the open air and belongs to the ATP World Tour 250 category . In the first few years the tournament was still called Gazprom Hungarian Open because of its sponsor. The tournament replaced the previous tournament in Bucharest . It is currently taking place at the same time as the tournament in Barcelona , which is part of the next higher ATP World Tour 500 .
