The International Tennis Tournament Open 13 Provence , before also Marseille Open , is a year since 1993 in the south French city of Marseille being transmitted ATP tournament . The number 13 in the tournament name refers to the code Insee of the Bouches-du-Rhône department , whose capital is Marseille.

With Marc Rosset in 1993 and 1994 and Boris Becker in 1995, the first three tournament years, in which carpets were still played, each had a winner from a German-speaking country. Rosset also won in 2000 and his compatriot Roger Federer in 2003. Record winners are Thomas Enqvist , Rosset and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga , who each won the tournament three times. The last winners from France were Gilles Simon (2015) and Tsonga (2017).

The tournament now takes place as part of the ATP World Tour 250 in February parallel to the tournaments in Delray Beach and Rio de Janeiro and lasts for one week. The latter belongs to the higher endowed ATP World Tour 500 , while the tournament in Delray Beach also belongs to the 250 category. As usual in these tournaments, the tableau features 28 single players - the four top seeded players start with a bye - and 16 double pairings. The venue is the Palais des Sports de Marseille , which seats 5,800 people. Hard courts have been played indoors since 1996. The tournament director is Jean-François Caujolle.
