The Open 13 2012 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 20th to 26th, 2012 in Marseille . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2012 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week, the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships were played in Memphis and the Copa Claro in Buenos Aires . The latter, like the Open 13, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category , while the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

The defending champion in the singles, Robin Söderling , could not compete due to illness. In the final, Juan Martín del Potro beat Michaël Llodra in two sets . This was the tenth ATP title of his career and the first in an indoor tournament. For Llodra, on the other hand, it was the second defeat in his third Marseille final after losing the final in 2009 and winning the title in 2010. The 20-year-old Albano Olivetti caused a stir, reaching the quarter-finals as a qualifier on his ATP debut and defeating the top 10 player Mardy Fish , who was ranked second .

In doubles, Robin Haase and Ken Skupski were the defending champions, but Skupski entered this year with a new partner and was eliminated with this in the semifinals. The tournament victory went to the purely French pairing Nicolas Mahut and Édouard Roger-Vasselin , who prevailed in the final against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Dustin Brown . This was their second joint ATP title after they had celebrated their first triumph at an ATP tournament just three weeks earlier in Montpellier . For Roger-Vasselin it was also the second ATP title ever, while Mahut has now won a total of five titles with various partners in the course of his career.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round.
