The 2012 Copa Claro was a clay court tournament that took place in Buenos Aires from February 20-26, 2012 as part of the 2012 ATP World Tour . In the same week, the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships in Memphis and the Open 13 in Marseille were held. The latter, like the Copa Claro, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category , while the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

In singles, Nicolás Almagro defended his title and lost to David Ferrer in a purely Spanish final .

In the doubles, however, last year's title winners, Oliver Marach and Leonardo Mayer , did not take part. Tournament winner was the Spanish pairing David Marrero / Fernando Verdasco through a final victory against the Slovaks Michal Mertiňák and André Sá from Brazil.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairings.
